The 2025 Footnotes

Personal

filed under:

The verdict is in, and I’m guilty.

Guilty of having my most successful year in business ever.

Guilty of hitting my revenue goal.

Guilty of not taking the time to celebrate and appreciate it.

So, as a verified Hoe For A New Year (see also: For A New Journal, New Planner, New Calendar) – I’m finally taking a moment to look back on 2025 and recap everything that went well (plus what didn’t, so you can learn from me)!

Tallying Up 2025

16 websites written

10 sales pages written

At least 10 random deliverables written for continuing clients, like sales email sequences, blog posts, and welcome sequences

6 students welcomed into my spur-of-the moment Messaging Mini group

At least 4 students welcomed into my carefully planned program for writing your entire website & messaging, Camp Cornerstone – and…

One signature program created

One IRL bestie roped into being in a very extra photoshoot for said program

Two large business investments regretted

One kickass bookkeeper absolutely NOT regretted

One podcast started, with

14 podcast episodes published

One workout competition WON

One life- and game-changing business mentorship completed

One Youtube channel launched

18 blog posts published

52 newsletters written

Two website re-launches (lol @ me saying I was “done forever!” in July and promptly needing to rebrand in November)

One rebrand, paired with one reawakening and a fat dose of grounded-ness and finally feeling like myself in my brand

Personal Notes

Two first plane rides (one for each kid)

One 4th birthday

One 3rd birthday

One 8th anniversary celebrated

Approximately 8 different carousels ridden

One first Disneyland trip

One house paid off (!!!)

What I Learned From 2025

You know, besides that the news is a constant dumpster fire (!) and that humanity will always surprise me in the best AND worst ways!

#1 – You’re responsible for your own balance

I mean, not revolutionary – but this was the first year I FELT this instead of just *thinking* it.

I was chatting with my husband the other day about how neither of us feel like our to-do lists ever run out. It’s exhausting. It just doesn’t end.

And somewhere in the middle of it, I realized that because it doesn’t end, we can either use that as an excuse to never do anything fun for ourselves, ORRRR we can actively set up the systems and boundaries that we need to live our damn lives in the middle of it all.

We’re going to spend 2025 choosing the latter.

#2 – I am still…not that good about spending

As a decisive, impulsive buyer – I’m fairly easy to talk into certain investments. It’s more evident in my personal life and spending (oops!), and for business investments it *usually* works out (I joined Sara’s mentorship on a whim and it quite literally paid off) – but I did make two large business investments this year that I wouldn’t repeat.

One was a business coaching experience that wasn’t what I expected, and one a system/program situation promising to keep me more organized that didn’t resonate with my actual brain – and I did about 5 minutes of “research” for each, so I can’t even be mad that they didn’t work out! But I AM committing to being a more critical consumer in 2026.

#3 – I’m good at what I do

I added several disclaimers to this at first so I didn’t seem braggy – but isn’t that the point? To brag on yourself a little? I’ve had SO MANY cool client wins from copywriting projects this year (better Google rankings, insanely increased revenue, etc) and I’ve also focused more on collecting that information and keeping up with their success. It’s been EVERYTHING to get to watch it play out for them and know that I was part of it.

#4 – The gym is fun?!

This year, I became one of those bootcamp girls – and I can honestly say I get the hype. I don’t talk much about it on my business account because, well, business – but I’ve worked out an average of 4-5x/week ALL YEAR, it’s totaled up to 220+ workouts.

TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY workouts.

I don’t even… okay. Apparently I really AM one of those girls.

And I also entered and won (!) one of my gym’s workout competitions (kind of like a really laid-back Hyrox) so that was cool.

#5 – I’m an action-taker

Which I knew, but apparently it’s a thing I’m now known for on the Internet if my friends and comments and tags are accurate. I just don’t see the need to wait for a month if I can execute an idea in a day, okay!

Honestly? This was my best year in a while, and I’m VERY curious to see what comes of 2026 – but you’ll have to wait for my 2026 Page One post for that 👀
