Money is hard.
Business is hard.
Figuring out how to make more money IN your business, and the smartest money to spend ON your business?
The hardest thing of all, because even though ~YoU HaVe To sPenD MoNey tO mAkE mOnEy~, it’s not easy to let go of money and trust that it’ll come back to you.
And as someone who reads every single review before investing, is willing to spend money on her business as long as she’s SURE it’s going to pay off, and wasted a lot of hours in the beginning of her business making the wrong decisions:
I’m here to protect your money as you grow your copywriting business by telling you about the best investment I’ve made in mine.
What is Success Story?
Success Story is a 3-month group mentorship program for copywriters, led by Sara of BTL Copy. The format is simple – it’s two biweekly coaching calls per month, UNLIMITED Slack access to Sara/Sara’s brain in between (for everything from business Q’s to copy reviews), a copy & SEO audit for your website, and it starts AND ends with a 1:1 call to make sure you’re getting a plan and advice tailored to YOU.
There’s also a TON of bonuses in the form of a resource library, which is absolutely loaded with things like:
- A complete outline of an example client experience, from BEFORE inquiry to project completion
- Email templates for sticky client situations
- How to on/offboard your clients smoothly
- A sample website copy questionnaire to help you get started
- 100 blog post ideas
(When I said loaded, I actually meant overflowing)
Is mentorship for copywriters really that different from other business programs?
It really is. Because 1) the Website Girl industry is aggressively saturated, and 2) websites require both copy and design, so they get *incorrectly* grouped together all the time, even if the copy you specialize in writing isn’t for websites.
Unlike several other online service types, though – copywriters don’t need a whole client portal, a lengthy onboarding system, or a complicated feedback system.
As a former website designer who tried to keep all of her workflows and design habits when transitioning to only copywriting services, I can personally attest that the setup for a copywriter is MUCH simpler, the advice is different, and the distinction is worth making.
It’s also worth noting that copywriting skills and “running a business” skills are different, and Success Story covers both.
You’ll get help booking clients, and help with projects themselves – so there’s zero need to join multiple groups/masterminds. Pick this one, and go all in with it.
Is Success Story worth the money?
Undoubtedly, yes. Success Story costs $3600 for three months of support (or 6 monthly payments of $600), and it’s worth every penny (honestly, the unlimited copy reviews alone are worth that price tag).
When you have an experienced mentor in your corner (and answering your questions 24/7), you:
- Don’t waste time on decisions, because you can either have the answer handed to you by someone who’s been there, or be guided more quickly to the answer you need
- Aren’t wasting money on tools that don’t work for copywriters, like complicated client portals or onboarding systems
- Get more clients, because someone’s guiding your moves and teaching you HOW to pitch, network, connect, and sell
- Can raise your prices faster, without sacrificing your success. Remember those copy audits I mentioned? You can use them to improve the quality of your work, get better reviews from (and results for) your clients, and spiral all of that up into higher project value
Let the record show that I actually kept investing in Sara’s mentorship through her ongoing Epilogue program (for Success Story graduates) and then a 1:1 minimind after Epilogue, specifically because her guidance was helping me grow my business so well.

Please know that I am being so serious when I tell you that just one call with Sara will completely unfck your brain when it comes to your copywriting business.
**Another investment note: You didn’t hear this from me (actually, it’s fine if you did) – but Success Story students are the first ones to get referrals when Sara has some to pass on. So while it’s not a guarantee that you’ll directly book a job through *this specific* method, it’s not out of the question (I did, and it covered my entire Success Story investment).
As with any investment – you get out what you put in.
Business mentorship is one of the best investments you can make in your business, because you’re also investing in yourself – but that also means you have to give some of yourself to see a return.
One of the things I love most about Success Story is that there isn’t a set curriculum – at the start of every “chapter,” Sara asks each student about what they’re hoping to learn, do, and be by the end of the program, and designs a custom curriculum for the group around it.
And if you want to learn something that doesn’t end up in your group’s curriculum? Sara’s happy to be an endless source of info and answers on Slack and your 1:1 calls.
Example: I needed specific support on how to shift my messaging and manage the transition from “Everything Website Girl” to “Website COPY Girl,” and that obviously didn’t apply to anyone else – so we made a plan for how to pull it off in Slack/voice notes/1:1’s and handled it that way.
TL;DR: Join. It’s a damn good – and lucrative – time.
You know how running an online business sometimes feels like you’re screaming into the void, just wishing you could stick your head into a coworker’s office to run an idea by them (but minus the corporate bullshit and literal water coolers)?
Yeah, this is that – but you’ll also get help turning those ideas into plans, reality, and revenue.
PS – If you have questions about joining Success Story, I’m one DM or email away.
