Today, I'm so excited to be sharing the new Among the Trees Counseling & Wellness branding + Showit website!
Kate reached out to me a few months ago with some ideas for her therapy practice, including converting her much-loved “Taking Care” presentation (about reducing weight stigma in clinical care) to an online option for providers to earn CEU's.
We quickly realized that the best option would be to create an all-new website that was cohesive (new branding! New photos! New details!) and organized to capture all of her offerings.
One of my favorite parts of any clinician project is getting to know how they work – their practice philosophy, what types of clients they click with, and exactly why they're so passionate about the work they do.
From the moment Kate and I sat down together, I felt like we clicked – Kate is so lovely, easy to talk to, and grounded. She described a vision for her branding that was both fresh & natural, bold & calm. We created a color palette that included deep blue-greens, warm goldenrod, and soft pinks with a perfectly varied typography suite to create her final branding.

Favorite Moment
The name of Kate's practice is inspired by the poem “Among the Trees” by Mary Oliver.
When I am among the trees, especially the willows and the honey locust, equally the beech, the oaks and the pines, they give off such hints of gladness. I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself, in which I have goodness, and discernment, and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, “Stay awhile.” The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It's simple,” they say, “and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine.”
Reading this poem gave me chills as we started to plan Kate's project – I knew I wanted to use video to capture the visuals described in this poem, as well as highlight the poem on Kate's About page.
This slider over the video is one of my favorite features of the entire project!
